Adventure Log: Baja

Embark on Darcy's Baja Adventure

Get ready to fuel your wanderlust with our first installment of our Adventure Log series, featuring the southern journey of our very own Sierra Adventure Vehicles customer, Darcy Brewer.

Darcy took her rig on an off-the-beaten-path odyssey through Baja. From some rugged terrain to hidden beach-y gems, she spills the details on the upgrades made to her van by the team.

DARCY'S JOURNEY SHOWCASES THE VERSATILITY AND DURABILITY OF HER ADVENTURE-READY, OFF-ROAD COMPANION…THE VAN.

DARCY'S WORDS

Get your rig ready, leave the rat race, head south and breathe. The whole trip was nothing short of amazing.

We just returned from a 9-day expedition and thought it might be helpful to share just a few words of wisdom that we’ve gained through our modifications this year to make our van more comfortable and capable.

ASK TJ & THE TEAM

If you aren’t sure what to do, what mods to invest in, which mod manufacturer to pick, how much to plan on spending to get you where you want to go, or even what order to proceed with once you make your upgrade plans…ask TJ. Off road vehicle gear upgrades can be confusing. It’s expensive. And there’s a lot to learn about before you make the jump. But after months of being a bit lost, shop visits, van expos, and a few mistakes -- things got simple: we talked to TJ and he took a look at our van.

We let him know where we wanted to go and what we wanted our vehicle to be ready for…and he provided the straight scoop - take it or leave it. The SAV team isn’t ‘selling’ you anything - their shop is already packed with top shelf rigs driven by loyal customers…loyal for good reason. We’ve found the SAV crew to be brutally honest, highly experienced, and spot on with answers and solutions every time. And in the end our van “wowed” us.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

Yep, it’s true. Again, off-road adventure vans are expensive. If you want to wander far, if you really want to explore — you must add the right gear to do it. You may be able to save a few bucks by going somewhere else. Maybe the drive time to Truckee seems out of your way. But I can tell you from many van experiences just in the past year…these guys treat your rig like it’s their own, and as if their family will be on board for its next expedition. I’m so impressed with their personal care of our van that I’m writing this note to share with you (and that’s not normally my jam).

We hope this Adventure Log installment inspires your next escapade. We love to see your rigs in the wild! To be featured in an upcoming Adventure Log email our team to share your story and photos.

Happy trails!
